My New Obsession w/ High Waisted Bikinis

Like a lot of women out there, I sometimes spend a little too much time before (and during) a vacation worrying about what swimsuit I’m going to wear on the beach. Because, well, I like enjoying myself while I’m on the beach. I like having a cocktail, I like trying to gelato pops on site at the hotel I’m staying at, and I like eating any french fry that comes my way. And because of that, my weight goes up and down, especially with all the recent travel I’ve had going on lately. And no matter how I’m feeling that day on vacation, I want to feel confident and radiant in what I’m wearing…which is where my love my high waisted bikinis came into play while on my recent trip to Aruba.

I’ve worn a couple high waisted bikinis before, but it wasn’t until I found this bright red front tie bikini top and matching bottoms both on sale for 40% off (meaning the entire suit only cost me about $40!), I decided to take a chance on a different look to see how I felt on vacation. And guess what? I LOVED IT!! I’ve had struggles with insecurities my entire life and they are still challenges I run into from time to time, especially when it comes to the beach. But when I put this bikini on, I felt comfortable, I felt confident, and I felt excited to be on the beach in a bikini the entire day. And I got a ton of compliments from other women on the beach asking where the suit was from!

For me, swimsuit season can feel a little overwhelming at times, especially with social media and the constant comparison game. But I’ve found that I’ve been able to quiet those insecurities by staying active, staying positive, and by finding that one perfect swimsuit that makes me glow. And this high waisted bikini did exactly that while I was traveling. I didn’t want to hide away, I didn’t want to restrict myself, and I didn’t want to miss out on any of Aruba…I wanted to soak up every second of sunshine during a short two-day trip. And since I’m heading to Myrtle Beach next week, I’m on the hunt for another high waisted bikini that will make me feel my best while I travel! No self-doubt is getting in the way of my life!
