Ever since becoming a mom, I’ve had to cut back and adjust my hobbies and “me time”; which I totally expected to happen. Pre-baby days, I really enjoyed spending time on seasonal crafts and DIY projects but now that Hudson is here, I find it’s harder to find extra time to enjoy these things like I used to. Now when I have some down time, the last thing I want to do is pour hours of my time into DIY projects; I’d rather relax in silence with a hot cup of coffee, read a book or just sit outside in the sun. Don’t get me wrong, I still love myself a good DIY so that’s why I’ve turned to easier projects that don’t take forever and a day to complete. We just purchased a house a few weeks ago so I’ve been dedicating one day here and there each month for a fun DIY decor project. I was at my local craft store recently and picked up two wooden trays at 70% off and knew I could make something fun with them with some fake flowers I had laying around the house.
What you’ll need:
- Fake Floral Arrangements
- Wood “Serving” Tray(s)
- Hot Glue Gun or super glue
- Hammer and nails (to hang on the wall)
Step One: Remove the flower heads from the stems - keep some of the greenery to use as a filler, too!
Step Two: Figure out how you'd like to arrange your flowers and start glueing them in place. Every so often I'd take a break and make sure I like how the arrangement looks from a far.
Step Three: Stand back and admire your masterpiece! Now find a place in your how to show it off.
I absolutely love how these came out and that they’re so unique; no one else will have these exact flower arrangements. In total, I was able to make these for around $15 out of pocket - granted I had most of the flowers around the house.
