Why Superfoods?

Superfoods are a special category of foods found in nature. By definition, they are calorie sparse and nutrient dense. This means that they pack a lot of punch for their weight as far as goodness goes. They are superior sources of antioxidants and essential nutrients – nutrients we need but cannot make ourselves. Barley grass has 11 times more calcium than cow’s milk, five times more iron than spinach and seven times more Vitamin C and bioflavonoids than orange juice.
