You like to eat salad.  In fact, it helps boost your energy in the afternoon.  But, you’re getting kind of bored. Same old lunch, day in and day out.  What can you do? Change up your salad dressings!

There are so many easy ways that you can enjoy a salad without having to pull out the recipe books.  Just adding new flavors with spices or different purees is easy to do and will keep you interested, engaged and healthy.

Plus, eating a new variety of herbs will bring you added health benefits and help you avoid the store-bought chemically treated varieties.  We’re also choosing to limit oils as too many ounces can contribute to inflammation in the body. If you are using oil, make the switch to these unique alternatives.

Cool Food Facts

Curry:  The main ingredient in curry is turmeric.  A spice that has been proven to fight inflammation, cancer and support your mental health.  It is also responsible for the bright yellow color of its dishes.

Raspberries: Raspberries can increase metabolism in fat cells making it less likely for the body to deposit fat in those cells.  Raspberries can also help the body use the fat that has been deposited in fat cells.

Avocado: We consider avocados to be a superfood!  High in soluble fiber, they help regulate blood sugar.  But what makes them most impressive is that they are key to reducing the risk of inflammatory and degenerative disorders that can affect every part of the body — including joints, the heart, brain, internal organ systems, skin and connective tissue.

Tofu: This controversial soy product is not to be overlooked for its many hormone-balancing benefits.  As women age, it can actually help restore proper balance and prevent osteoporosis.

Cinnamon: As little as one ¼ teaspoon daily of this aromatic spice can reverse type II Diabetes.  Not only that, but it also lowers LDL cholesterol and triglycerides. Add it to your favorite daily condiment rack.
