I hope you’re hungry because for today's DIY post, Lauren has created a beautiful tablescape for fall - perfect for your Thanksgiving dinner. Hope you enjoy! Show her some love in the comments! XO Candace

All Summer I’ve been dreaming about fall; it’s easily my favorite season mainly because THANKSGIVING. I don’t know about you guys but there’s something about Thanksgiving that makes me so incredibly happy. The food, tight-knit atmosphere, the cozy fall sweaters, the bold red wine, being around my nutty family, and cooking and laughing together; I literally wouldn’t give it up for anything.

My sister, Katie and I started hosting Thanksgiving together at her house a few years ago and we really enjoy hosting our parents, brother and great great aunt (she’s 99!!!) and still so vibrant. Katie doesn't really get a say in the matter, but we both know I’m totally in charge of decor #MarthaWannaBe. Each year I try to do something new and incorporate different colors. Last year I went with a white/gold theme so this year I wanted to be a little more adventurous with some bold oranges and reds.

You know ya girl is always looking for ways to reuse and repurpose things around my house and yard (you can check out my DIY Tassel Hanging, for a little refresher) which always makes things much cheaper and more unique so that’s exactly what I did for this project.

When it comes to tablescapes, I think it all boils down to layers. I always start out by roaming around my house, garage and yard collecting things I think might compliment each other. The first few things I grabbed this year were a wooden cake stand from my kitchen, some mini pumpkins from the front porch, pinecones from under our pine tree in the front yard and some pieces of green vine from our flowerbed in the back.

First, I laid out the burlap table runner and placed my cake stand in the very middle of the table. I started adding the pumpkins after the wine glass ‘vases’ and candles were placed where I thought they’d look good, I placed the pinecones in a “weaving” like pattern and really liked the way it looked, so I just went with it with each component or “layer”.

For this tablescape look I had to purchase the 2 taper candles, 2 tapered candle holders and the burlap table runner. I found some little mini styrofoam pumpkins in my craft drawer so I pulled those out. I had a bouquet of flowers that were starting to wilt in my living room, so I snipped just the heads of the flowers that looked the healthiest and spread those out. I also re-purposed the white flowers from our bedroom by placing them in stemless wine glasses, since they were on their way out as well. I had some older thyme in my refrigerator and thought it would make a nice accent on each individual napkin along with a single pinecone. In total, I spend a little under $29.

Of course, there’s really no right or wrong way to decorate a table; just have fun with it.
