Weekend Away in Beaver Creek

This post is sponsored by Backcountry

If you’ve read my blog at any point in the past, you probably know I’m not huge into the outdoors. Mostly because driving to the mountains here in Colorado can be a bit of a nightmare. There is almost always bumper-to-bumper traffic, the mountains can get expensive, and there are always a million people around. But that is not the case mid-October in Beaver Creek. Once the aspen leaves have fallen and before the mountains are littered with snow, mountain towns have quieted down and a sense of calm passes through. I’ve lived in Colorado my entire life with the great outdoors at my feet, but it wasn’t until a couple weekends ago when I headed to Beaver Creek with my girlfriends that I was reminded how amazing and calming being outdoors can be.

For me, I could really care less about skiing or rock climbing or whatever outdoorsy people do, but what I do love is being around people I care about and getting in good conversation throughout the weekend. So many of us are so incredibly busy at this point that in-depth conversation is hard to come by. It’s so easy to go day-to-day without truly knowing what our friends are going through. And this weekend away in Beaver Creek gave us that opportunity to do just that. We were able to hike, hot tub, sip on cocktails and sit by the fire, all while sharing true feelings and experiences of what all of us are currently going through while getting outdoors and breathing in fresh air.

Our trip to Beaver Creek included 5 women who love to eat and drink. While we were in Beaver Creek and Vail, we went to 8100 Mountain Side Bar, Northside Cafe, Golden Eagle Inn and Westside Cafe. And since all of us love to eat and drink so much…and we are really good at it…we had to make sure we were constantly moving to stay in shape and feel our best. While we were at the hotel, we could have easily just worked out in our large hotel gym, but getting outdoors sounded much more enjoyable, even to a person like me who enjoys staying inside. But if I ever plan to get outside during the fall and winter months, I have to be bundled to the max. And that’s where Backcountry comes in.

If you’re into anything outdoors, Backcountry has your back. Quite literally. They have everything to keep you warm whether you’re heading out for a run, going on a hike, heading to the beach or simply sitting by the fire making s’mores (my style). Backcountry has the perfect look for you no matter what you love to do throughout fall and winter. And since this trip to Beaver Creek popped up last minute, I turned to Backcountry to grab some last minute items because they offer free 2-day shipping on all orders over $50 across the country. Can we just take a moment of silence for FREE 2-day shipping? It’s life changing.

If you haven’t shopped at Backcountry before, let me give you a quick breakdown – they have EVERYTHING. If you’re into simply working out like me, they have some of the best activewear brands like Beyond Yoga, Alo Yoga, Nike, Adidas, New Balance and more. If you’re into staying warm and cozy when you’re outdoors while showcasing your own style, they have brands I love most like The North Face, Backcountry, Patagonia, Sorel, Toad & Co., Arc’Teryx and Brixton. And if you’re just simply a badass and love conquering the outdoors during winter, they have brands like Osprey Packs, KUHL, Icelantic, Smith, Burton, and Salomon. They really have it all. And they make it super easy to shop by brand, by activity or simply by speaking to one of their gearheads (outdoor experts) who are available 24/7 via chat, email or phone to help you find exactly what you need for your next adventure! They’ll even process exchanges or returns and provide updates on order status. Their customer service is outstanding and I’m speaking form experience. If you like stepping outdoors, Backcountry wants to make sure you are comfortable and ready for anything throughout every season.

When I logged on to Backcountry to find the perfect Beaver Creek apparel, I quickly found Sorel Joan Of Arctic Wedge II Boots which I’ve been eyeing for quite a while. I wanted a pair of boots that could survive the muddy elements while still being able to sport them out to dinner the same night. Then I found Alo Yoga High-Waist Airlift Leggings that could go from hiking to cocktails along with my boots. Alo Yoga is one of my favorite activewear brands because you can sport it at the gym or while out to brunch. Then I pulled the full look together with the most comfortable Backcountry Mt. Arie SweatshirtToad&Co Merino Merritt Hoodie that all my girlfriends were obsessed with, and a Filson Open Tote Bag. It was so easy to put together a stylish look perfect for exploring the mountains!

Backcountry not only cares deeply about its customers and getting them outdoors, but they care about the world we all depend on for our outdoor adventures. Backcountry has partnered with The Nature Conservancy since 2008 to support its mission of protecting the lands and waters on which all life depends. If you haven’t gotten outdoors lately, I challenge you to get out into nature with someone you love and spend some quality time in the fresh air. Coming from someone who could sit indoors 24/7, getting into the mountains brought a sense of calm and serenity over me in a time of self doubt and upset. Plan a girls weekend, go on a hike or simply wander around a park near you. Do something outside that makes you smile, even when the temperatures cool down. Backcountry will make sure to keep you warm no matter what!
