Our next YBC® holiday gift guide (see our first for the BFF here!) comes from the two moms of the team, and also the two Laurens of the team, “Lauren OG” and “LG.” Lauren OG is a mom to her 20 month old son, and LG is mom to 14 month-old Teddy, and also to a baby boy arriving in April, 2019. They’ve put together a list of items for baby, littles and moms, and also some sweet gift baskets for your mom friend who just gave birth. Let us know in the comments if there’s anything we’ve missed!
-
These notes ($8) to baby make us want to start crying just reading them because they are so sweet. You fill them out now and save them for your baby to open and read when they’re older. They also have notes to mom, dad and future self.
-
Set your mom friend up with an organic, super soft newborn gown ($19) to bring her baby home in, and tell her not to toss out the hospital hat or ID bracelet because she can save them in this clear Christmas ornament forever! Also, this matching mother-baby set ($99), these socks ($15), and a soft nursing bra ($53) and camis ($28).
-
The best diaper bags are ones that don’t scream diaper bags and this one ($149) is so sleek and gorgeous and leaves your arms free to carry baby.
-
For your breast-feeding mom, the BreastFriend ($40) is a must. It holds all the things while your baby nurses - your phone, the remote or a book. And then you can set your baby down safely in this dock-a-tot ($185) which keeps your baby safe, snug and comfy.
-
This stroller set ($1,279) is so worth it because it drives like a dream, has a ton of storage and converts to hold two (and even three) more babies - if that’s in your future. It also has a newborn bassinet and compatible car seat ($299) which I didn’t get and wish I had!
-
This 4Moms baby swing ($208) can give mom some much needed free time and this playmat ($62) for when they’re a little bit older.
-
Late night feedings can be brutal, but this bassinet ($250) can swivel to hover over the bed and this Boppy pillow ($30) for everywhere else.
-
These onsies ($13) are so adorable, affordable and we love the bottom-first zipper, as are these cold weather sets for him and her.
-
To help make your baby into the best sleeper, we love this sound machine ($33), these blackout drapes ($43) and this sleep suit ($40).
-
After 9 months of not partaking, we couldn’t wait for a nice, cold, crisp glass of wine, so I love this affordable chiller and electric bottle opener set ($24).
-
This birthstone pendant necklace ($42) is so pretty and doesn’t scream mom! But if that’s your thing, this one ($58) is cute and this one ($58) that can be personalized with the children’s initials.
-
If she’s an active mommy-to-be, she’ll love these workout pants ($132), this nursing tank ($68) and this top ($84) because they are so soft and comfy - and best of all, stylish.
-
Teddy and Hudson would love if Santa dropped this Melissa & Doug set ($25) under the tree, and they’d love this construction plate ($15), or this baby doll ($20).
-
We love everything Dr. Suess and these flash cards ($10) can make learning fun. And you even a parent if you don’t have these magnetic letters ($15) on your fridge?
-
For your little artist, this reversible art easel ($38) has tons of activities, and also this washable paint set ($5), and of course, Play-Doh art set ($33).
-
For the kid that loves to build - these blocks ($11), or this set ($15), or this classic wooden set ($18).
-
These drool bibs ($20) are the cutest, and in our opinion, the most well-made. For stocking stuffers, these Lego men ($18) and LOL dolls ($10).
-
And for your reader, Construction Site on Christmas Night ($11), The Diary of a Wimpy Kid box set ($63), The Wonky Donkey ($5), and The Little Blue Truck ($11).
Gift sets:
It’s hard to forget how exhausting, overwhelming, and intense those first few weeks of being a new mom can be, which makes these gift basket ideas so thoughtful for any time of year:
The coffee-loving mom: Sometimes moms steer clear of their much loved lattes and coffees during their pregnancy so a gift basket ($15) of some coffee and tea, this collagen creamer ($29), a cute mug ($5), a monogramed tea towel ($36) with their new baby’s initials, and an at-home coffees or espresso machine ($180) so she doesn’t have to load up the baby for a coffee run.
The self-care mom: Those first few days and weeks after birth are brutal on a new mom’s body, sleep schedule and self-care routine. Put together a little basket with this super soft blanket ($180) and sleep mask ($11), a set of bath bombs ($17), candles ($24), a new robe ($59), Tucks pads ($14), nipple cream and a soothing pads ($5) to help her feel a little like herself again.
The wine-and-cheese mom: When I finally settled in at home, one of the first things I wanted was that first glass of crisp, cold wine and all the cheese after nine months of abstinence. A basket ($15) with a bottle of wine, personalized wine stopper ($19), cute wine glasses ($36), coasters ($10), a cheese board ($45), and cheeses would be awesome.
