Asparagus and Pine Nuts

This Asparagus and Pine Nuts recipe contains one of the best vegetables you can eat on the ketogenic diet. It has many vital nutrients such as fiber, folate, vitamins A, C, E and K, as well as chromium, a trace mineral that enhances the ability of insulin to transport glucose from the bloodstream into cells. Chromium is also a vital nutrient in calming down sweet cravings and is useful for people who have uncontrollable carbohydrate and sweet cravings.

Asparagus and Pine NutsIf you ate asparagus as a kid, and never really enjoyed it much, you’ve probably been exposed to the sulphur taste of the green vegetable that can become quite apparent when you boil or steam this vegetable. To avoid this taste, this recipe revolves around baked asparagus, mixed in with the wonderful taste of sesame seed oil and pine nuts.

Sesame seed oil gives such a fantastic flavour to this dish and highlights the pine nuts perfectly. Its the perfect keto side dish, and goes with just about any protein or main meal you desire.

This Winter could be a lot more enjoyable with Asparagus with Pine Nuts, but it’s also suitable to serve it throughout the year. For this reason, Asparagus with Pine Nuts is Low Carb and also Keto.
