Top 10 Keto Gift Guide of 2018

If you are getting ready for the holiday season, and buying up big during the Black Friday sales, then this Keto Gift Guide is going to be your new resource on gift ideas for anyone embarking on the ketogenic diet. Maybe you’ve been wanting to simplify your cooking experience, or simply just make life a little easier, then these items are going to be exactly what you’re looking for.

I’ve put together a list of items that I have been getting the most use out of throughout my years on the ketogenic diet, but also as a cook in the kitchen. Not all of these items are keto related, but will certainly make great gifts for those friends and family over the holiday season.

*Please note, this post contains affiliate links. By purchasing items through the links in this post, I receive a small percentage of the sale at no extra cost to you. *

1 – Magic Whisk

This little device is one of my favorite kitchen utensils because it’s cheap and super useful. Don’t feel like getting out the electric mixer? Perfect! you can keep this device in your utensils cupboard to quickly whisk up eggs, butter coffee, or anything that needs a little more force than just a simple whisk.

I’ve used it in pretty much all of my youtube videos, and it’s one device I get asked about all the time. Impress your friend, loved one (or yourself) and buy it on Amazon.

2 – MCT Oil

MCT Oil is the only additional product I recommend adding to the ketogenic diet, and its benefits are amazing. I use MCT oil almost every day, and can really feel the difference if I don’t have it in my morning coffee (especially as someone who exercises regularly).

MCT oil has been shown to decrease the time needed to switch over to fat burning when entering into the ketogenic diet, so its perfect for beginners (just make sure you don’t have any more than 1 tsp to start with). Its also great for those wanting the fast acting energy that MCT oil provides, so its perfect as a pre-workout drink, or an afternoon booster.

You can buy this from Perfect Keto if you live in the US or Canada (use code FFWL for 15% off)

Or you can buy this from Temple Nutrition if you live in Australia (Use code FFWL15 for 15% off your order)

3 – Aeropress

By gosh, I couldn’t go without this handy device. The Aeropress can be described as a big coffee syringe that presses coffee through a filter and creates one of the most delicious, yet easy to make coffee’s you’ll ever taste.

If you don’t have room for a coffee machine (much like me and you live in an apartment) then this is going to be your new best friend.

My favorite way to make coffee using the Aeropress is this: 16g Ground Coffee, 120ml Hot Water, steep for 30 seconds and press.

You can buy this on Amazon, and you can also get some cool funky attachments that even turn it into an espresso machine.

4 – Food Processor

I recently invested in a food processor, and its revolutionized my cooking. I don’t understand what I did before I bought it, and I recommend you get one if you don’t have one already (if you have space).

Making pesto, cake bases, and almost any recipe can be easily sped up by using a food processor. Its one of the few utensils Jamie Oliver recommends in his 15-minute cookbook, and I understand why.

I bought mine from Target, but you can get them anywhere.

I recommend this one

5 – Pressure Cooker

Pressure cookers are for people who like slow-cooked meals but don’t have the time to wait until its cooked. You know how you’ve always wanted to make that slow cooked beef, but every time you think of it, you have 2 hours until dinner, instead of 6?

Well, pressure cookers are slow cookers on steroids. When the food is pressurized, you can make brisket, pork, or any kind of meat fall apart simply by using a pressure cooker, and its done in no time at all.

500g of brisket (1 lb) was cooked in 60 minutes for me using my pressure cooker. It certainly comes highly recommended.

There are both instant pots and pressure cookers, but they are essentially the same thing (just without the yogurt button).

6 – Keto Recipes Everyone Will Actually Eat

This is my new cookbook, Keto Recipes Everyone Will Actually Eat, and its packed full of 100+ keto-friendly recipes that the whole family will love.

If you hate making 2 separate meals every time you step into the kitchen because “I don’t like keto foods” is mumbled from your partner, or the kids go “What the hell is this?” when you try and make a keto chocolate chip cookie recipe, then this book is for you.

You can purchase this here and impress your friends and family with your newly acquired skill of cooking.

7 – Butter Wrapped Up In Christmas Paper

This one is more of a joke, but its funny none the less. If you’re looking to get a joke present for someone who is on the ketogenic diet, then what better way to pull a prank than by wrapping up a stick of butter and giving it to them?

The only thing is you’ll need to know which brand of butter to get. Don’t get any old butter, as you’ll end up as the wrong end of the joke.

I recommend grass-fed butter like Kerry Gold, West Gold or any other organic style of butter (which is usually grass-fed).

8 – Cast Iron Skillet

Who could go wrong with a cast iron skillet as a present? A better idea is to pair Liz Williams “One Pot Ketogenic Diet Cookbook” with the skillet and give them a full range of recipes to actually make with it.

Skillets are cheap, and so is Liz’s book, so don’t feel like you have to shell out a large sum of money in order to help someone get started with the ketogenic diet. This book comes highly recommended.

9 – Silicone Baking Mat

Using parchment paper every time you need to bake something can become a bit wasteful, and this is where these baking mats come in.

They are nonstick, so your fathead pizza will actually come off the bottom of your tray, plus they are reusable so you’re saving the planet, one meal at a time.

You can buy this on Amazon here

10 – Global Knife

If you’ve got a budding chef in the family, then giving them a good quality sharp knife might be the ultimate present of them all. Every cook needs a sharp knife, and Global make one of the best quality knives out there.

If you buy them only one knife, get the medium sized knife, as its good for almost any job. You can also get the pairing knife, or the long bladed one, however, they are a little more specialised and are not 100% nessesary to getting started in the kitchen.

So I hope you got some great idea from this holiday keto gift guide. Make sure you have a happy holiday, drive safe and ensure your family is safe too. Happy holidays everyone!
